Frequently asked questions

Getting started

What do I need to launch a site?

Hosting with PHP 8.5 and a PostgreSQL database. Installation happens in the browser: the wizard checks the requirements, creates the tables and sets up an administrator. There are no console commands to type.

How long does installation take?

Usually a few minutes. The longest part is entering the database details; the wizard does the rest itself and explains each step as it goes.

Will the site be empty after installation?

No. Menus, several pages and materials, a slider on the home page, payment and delivery methods and eleven themes appear straight away. These are ordinary records — edit them to suit yourself or delete them.

Money and terms

Is there a subscription fee?

No. One purchase and the system keeps running with no renewals. There is simply nothing to stop paying for: there is no licence server that will one day stop answering, and no features that switch themselves off on a schedule.

Who owns the site and the code?

You do. The source code is open and sits on your server, and so does the database. There is no "vendor account" without which the site turns into a pumpkin.

What if the project stops being developed tomorrow?

The site will keep working: it makes no outside calls, and nothing breaks because somebody failed to ship an update. The foundation is Laravel and PostgreSQL rather than something we invented: any Laravel developer can carry on maintaining it. That is the main reason the foundation is a common one.

Do I need paid add-ons?

No. The store, delivery, forms, reviews, discussions, SEO, themes, access rights and translations are modules of the system, not third-party extensions. The full list is on the Features page.

What does ownership cost over three years?

What matters is not the purchase price but everything together: licences, renewals, custom work and repairs after updates. A breakdown by item is on the What ownership costs page.

Content

Do I need to know HTML to add a material?

No. Text is typed in a visual editor, like in an ordinary document: headings, lists, images, links. Ready-made blocks — cards, figures, steps, questions — are picked from the "Styles" list in the editor toolbar.

How is a page different from a news item?

A page stands on its own and usually goes into a menu: "About", "Contacts". A news item is part of a feed, it has a date and it takes part in the home-page selections. If the material does not go out of date, it is a page.

Can I prepare a material in advance?

Yes. While publishing is switched off the material is visible only in the panel. Turn it on when everything is ready: the record appears on the site and in search at once.

What happens if I delete a material by mistake?

Deletion is final, which is why the system asks again first. If the material is simply not needed right now, switch publishing off — it stays in the panel.

Appearance

How do I change the colours and the logo?

In the "Themes" section. Colours, font, logo and background image are set there. Changes apply to the whole site at once — nothing has to be rebuilt.

Can materials be displayed differently?

Yes, each material picks its output template: a plain feed, a magazine, product cards, clinic services, reviews with a rating. On the site they look different and are grouped into sections.

Will the site look right on a phone?

Yes, both the site and the control panel adapt to the screen width. Materials can be published from a tablet or a phone.

Store and orders

Can I sell products?

Yes. A material with the "Products" template gets a price, a stock count and an add-to-cart button. The order is placed on the site, and payment and delivery methods are configured in their own sections.

Do the payment methods already work?

The methods are set up but switched off and without keys: every store has its own credentials. Enter yours in the method's settings and enable it. Until then an order is placed without online payment.

Technical

What about search engines?

Every record has its own meta tags and address, and the sitemap is generated automatically. The questions page additionally gives search engines a question-and-answer structure, so they can show it directly in the results.

Does any data go to outside servers?

No. Fonts, styles and scripts live on your own site, and there are no calls to outside services. It shows both in loading speed and in what you can say about personal data.

What if I don't need a module?

Switch it off under "Modules" — it disappears from the site and from the panel menu. The content stays in the database and comes back if you switch the module on again.

How secure is it?

Two-factor sign-in to the panel, signature and amount checks on payment notifications, order contents read from the database (not from the browser form), a whitelist of uploadable file types and our own captcha. In detail, with every line of defence explained, on the Security page.

Will it speak another language?

Yes, and it is not only the panel that gets translated: the interface language and the content language are separate, and both are edited from the panel. A new language is added in the same place, without a developer — see In your language.

What hosting do I need?

Ordinary hosting with PHP 8.5 and PostgreSQL. A dedicated server and administrator rights are not required: the setup wizard checks the requirements itself and tells you what is missing before it creates any tables.
