Images and video: what the editor keeps and what it strips

An image can be uploaded from disk or picked from the media library — in the second case it is already on the server and will not take up space twice. Uploading from the editor goes into the media library, not past it.

Of the attributes, sizes, alt and player settings are kept. Everything else is stripped: content is rendered onto the site as markup, and a stray attribute is somebody else’s code on a visitor’s page.
